The Chalet Sweater is an oversized sweater with rib and cables, and with a zipper in the collar. The sweater is worked top down. First, the back piece is worked. Next, stitches are picked up along the shoulder and the right and left front pieces are made separately, with increases along the V-neck. The front and back pieces are then joined under the armholes, and once the increases for the V-neck are completed, the front pieces are joined in the front. The rest of the body is worked in the round. Stitches are picked up along the armholes and sleeves are worked top down. The collar is worked bottom up in rib, and increases are made along the V-neck simulatenously as it is knitted together with stitches that are picked up along the edge of the V-neck. Once the edges along the V-neck are completed, a double folded collar is made, which is prolonged into facings for the zipper. Lastly, the zipper is sewn in by hand between two layers of knitting.
